Another morning take, Arabesque #2 by Cécile Chaminade (1857 – 1944). Chaminade was 39 (I think) when she composed this gem. Ambroise Thomas wrote of her: “This is not a woman who composes, but a composer who is a woman.” Um… baby steps I guess? At any rate, better than having to publish under your younger brother’s name and let him take credit, lest it bring shame to the family!! *cough* Fanny Mendelssohn *cough*
